Thorvaldsen Statues
A project I was involved in recreating Bertel Thorvaldsen's statues located in the Church of the Lady in Copenhagen, Denmark. These statues were digitally scanned by a small team of people including me and then I cleaned up the scans and restored them (see images). The digital models were then CNC milled by the company TorArt in Carrara, Italy. The final location of the recreated statues are in Rome, Italy at the LDS visitors center.

Scale. I am 6'6" tall. The Christus statue stands about 11' tall. The Apostle statues are about 5 1/2' tall on 2' stands.

The statues were too close to the wall for the scanner to capture the entire surface of the statue especially in the backs. The black area indicates what wasn't captured. I spent 6 months filling in the holes and restoring the data.
